Upgrade your XOVIS PC-Series Sensor to Firmware 5


Note: Before proceeding with the upgrade, ensure that you have a stable internet connection throughout the process.


Make sure you have the latest firmware version 5 file from Xovis or their official website:

Preliminary steps:
  • Delete all recordings

  • Reboot the sensor

 

Step 1: Prepare the necessary tools

  • A computer and the the Xovis PC2R sensor connected to the same network via Ethernet.

  • The firmware version 5 file for the Xovis PC2R sensor.

  • A PoE adapter with adequate power for the Xovis sensor.

  • 3 X Ethernet cables to connect the PC2R sensor to the PoE adapter, and the adapter and your computer.

 

Step 2: Connect the PC2R sensor

  • Connect one end of Ethernet cable #1 to the PC2R sensor's Ethernet port and the other end to the POE port on the PoE adapter.

  • Connect Ethernet cable #2 from the LAN port on the PoE adapter to you local network.

  • Connect Ethernet cable #3 from your computer to the same local network.

 

Step 3: Scan your sensor

Once found, right-click on the device, and select Web Interface

Step 4: Log in to the web interface

  • Enter the default username and password for the PC2R sensor (if not changed admin / pass)

  • If you have changed the credentials, enter the updated username and password to log in.

Step 5: Navigate to the firmware upgrade section

  • Once logged in, look for the "Firmware" or "Software Upgrade" section in the web interface. The location may vary depending on the firmware version.

  • Click on the appropriate section to proceed to the firmware upgrade page.

 

Step 6: Select the firmware version 5 file, or appropriate file if migration is necessary from older versions

  • In the firmware upgrade page, click on the "Browse" or "Choose File" button to select the firmware file.

  • Locate and select the firmware version 5 (or lower version if not on a minimum supported version) file that you downloaded earlier.

  • Click on "Open" to confirm the selection.

 

Step 7: Start the firmware upgrade process

  • Once the firmware file is selected, click on the "Upgrade" or "Start Upgrade" button to begin the upgrade process.

  • The firmware upgrade may take a several minutes to complete. During this time, ensure that the power supply to the PC2R sensor remains uninterrupted.

 

Step 8: Wait for the upgrade to finish

  • The firmware upgrade progress will be displayed on the web interface.

  • Avoid interrupting the upgrade process or powering off the PC2R sensor until the upgrade is complete.

  • The PC2R sensor may restart automatically after the upgrade is finished.

 

Step 9: Verify the firmware version

  • After the upgrade process is completed, log in again to the PC2R sensor's web interface.

  • Navigate to the Status section to verify that the firmware version is now updated to version 5.

 

Step 10: Add device to the Moviik QMS again and test.

 


Congratulations! You have successfully upgraded your Xovis PC-series sensor to firmware version 5. Remember to ensure that the sensor functions correctly after the upgrade and make any necessary configuration adjustments as needed.
